There was a great turnout to view the Traveler and Terra in Scottsdale, Arizona this morning. Let’s see how many photos I can share here. They are just as beautiful in person as in their marketing materials.

The Matte white looks nice but it would be chef's kiss with raised white letters on the tires. (I'm a sucker for that look)

Definitely. Interestingly, that's a wrap over the pacific mist color they unveiled a while back. I learned that they only have two preview models--these are the only Terra and Traveler we've seen live or in marketing materials--and they either repaint (as in the case of this Terra) or wrap (for the white on the Traveler) to explore new color options.

Great pics, you must’ve gotten there early because when I was there about 11am, the masses of people made it impossible to enjoy viewing the vehicles. I’m very disappointed in the way Scout handled this “viewing” . Why bother with giving invitations with a request to RSVP if they’re just letting all the public in? It should have been limited to us reservation holders that took the time to RSVP. We should have been given a time slot for our viewing and not have to fight for views amongst every Tom, Dick and Harry. I wasted four hours of my time driving up from Tucson for nothing, thanks Scout :(

I got there about 10:30, coming up from Tucson. It was kind of a madhouse I agree. They had given away all of the “gifts“ for those who have a reservation by the time I got there. They told me the line was quite long right from the get-go. But I am a tall drink of water with pointy elbows so people generally got out of my way when I went to take photos. It was cool to see the rigs in person, if nothing else.

The Terra is a big truck, especially on those 37 inch tires!

They have plenty of photos. I’m sure they will come out with that color. The rep I talked to said it was very popular. But they only have two vehicles to take around the country so if they want to show a new color they have to change the color of the vehicles.

Good article. I like the very first comment from James :

Why not just give customers the option of a frunk OR range extender? I'm sure w would be OK with the tradeoff

Theres of course going to be the person that has to have both, but it seems like the option from James would possibly put the car to market much faster. I know I for sure would choose that option, had I want just one car and a range extender.

Still, I’m holding out for the BEV 🔋

Interesting to be sure. I am on the fence about pure EV vs Harvester, and the more complicated this gets, the more I am tempted to go EV only and just wait it out. Which in the Terra probably means 2030 or 2031.

I think with VW so involved with battery development that as far as the Scout Bev it can only get better as to range their not going to utilize today's standard battery chemistry. By 2028 350 current projections should exceed that by 100 miles at least and with 800 volt architecture and fast charging and V2 capability. I wouldn't be shocked if Scout / VW came out with their own home battery storage system like GM and Ford seems to be the next frontier

Imagine the Scout Pack a fully home and road system. Home charger along with a transfer switch and home stackable terra battery storage system that is also portable meaning you could take a portion of your home stackable battery that happens to fit perfectly in rear tire carrier. This would enable campsites to run off of portable battery and allow vehicles battery not to be depleted. Maybe with foldable solar panels to trickle charge portable battery. I hope their some crafty engineers out there with great imagination
