I know there is a button that auto uses the engine around 50% or whatever. But if i know i will be pulling over to a charge+gas station. i could tell the car to not use
Somewhat similar to 2026 Tesla Model Y Performance leases from what I am seeing.
Still hopeful for harvester and smaller more efficient battery. LFP or Solid State would be amazing.
Charge fast
Gas up fast
get back on the road for 400+ range.
Worry of mine, is the added maintenance of the little gas engine. I have been driving full battery EV for 8 years now. I hope we...
But also makes me think about the 350mpge full battery claims on the Scout.
These boxier smaller battery vehicles just seem to not be able to achieve these 300+ ranges they want to claim.
With these new Rivian R2 vs Model Y videos are appearing on YouTube. It has only confirmed my choice to wait for Scout Traveler Harvester as the best bet.
R2 @80mph they rated at 200mpge
R2 @70mph rated at 255mpge
The odd shaped Model Y kept it 300+ mpge @70mph. Which is closer to posted mpge...
I agree, R2 is competitor.
But more so the Bronco, and Jeep are an exact niche Scout is trying to enter. You are still putting gas into vehicle one way or the other.
The electric capability of 100 miles daily is a very nice thing... but not sure it is worth thousands more over a more off road...
Are people still saying ~70k to 80k ?
The last video i saw from Scout, still starting at 60k... then every word out of their mouth after that was "option, option, option". My guess the 70k minimum for a spec'ed truck that people would want is a reality, and the trucks we have been seeing with...
Frunk is more important to those with Terra. From what i have heard from R1t owners, they use the Frunk all the time, for groceries, things they don't want to put into the bed of the truck.
Plus there is typically a cover over the bed that would take more time to roll back to put something in...
One would assume the tech understands the mode, same with camp mode. These modes should know if energy drops close 0, turn on the harvester to charge the battery.
If they miss that day 1, I would bet a software update will be added soon after.
Rivian has pet mode as well. The software comes...
Makes sense since the Scout software is Rivian. My hope Rivian does well with the R2, and can stay Rivian.
I am sure their backup could be to fall under the VW umbrella. Might help them sell more trucks overseas.
Best case I can see is Polestar. I am pretty sure that was direct to consumer. But service centers were Volvo.
I believe more money in the pocket of Scout/VM if they go direct to consumer. Dealers buy at invoice, sell at market price. Direct to consumer, they can sell at market price and...
Good photos, i got there on my bike little later.
I asked about the harvester. they described the location where a Rivian has their gear tunnel. the article linked might be and older patent. With removal of battery it makes space for the engine is what they were saying.
I also voiced my...
Yeah this patent might not be the final form of the engine.
I was told at Scottsdale event the engine was sitting more like where the gear tunnel on a Rivian sits. Behind cab, before the rear axial. Space gets made because half the battery is removed.
I was happy to hear because the Terra...
