Interesting to be sure. I am on the fence about pure EV vs Harvester, and the more complicated this gets, the more I am tempted to go EV only and just wait it out. Which in the Terra probably means 2030 or 2031.
They have plenty of photos. I’m sure they will come out with that color. The rep I talked to said it was very popular. But they only have two vehicles to take around the country so if they want to show a new color they have to change the color of the vehicles.
I got there about 10:30, coming up from Tucson. It was kind of a madhouse I agree. They had given away all of the “gifts“ for those who have a reservation by the time I got there. They told me the line was quite long right from the get-go. But I am a tall drink of water with pointy elbows so...
Definitely. Interestingly, that's a wrap over the pacific mist color they unveiled a while back. I learned that they only have two preview models--these are the only Terra and Traveler we've seen live or in marketing materials--and they either repaint (as in the case of this Terra) or wrap (for...
There was a great turnout to view the Traveler and Terra in Scottsdale, Arizona this morning. Let’s see how many photos I can share here. They are just as beautiful in person as in their marketing materials.
Agreed. I’ve had two late model VW GTIs and the electronics are a mess. Great fun to drive—until the electronics crap out. Which they did on both my cars. Sigh.
Reserved back in October and just switched from Traveler with Harvester to Terra all electric. We just moved and a truck will be more practical. Sure hope they offer it in the original Traveler metallic auburn color, though.
When I was going to purchase a car in Oregon but live down here in Arizona, I was going to get the temporary tag from the dealer but then I would have to register it here and pay the tax when I registered it. I think it really depends on how common it is for out-of-state folks to buy from that...
I'm in Tucson and expect a service center in Phoenix but not down here, at least in the first few years. So I'm prepared to drive up to Phoenix, which is anywhere from 90-120 miles depending on the center's location, and up to 2 hours. Not ideal, especially for a first-year vehicle where we can...
The digital display on the Volkswagen GTI is amazing and has several options. I like that functionality as well.
i have driven a car only a few times that had a heads up display, but I was not a fan of it. I found it more distracting than anything else and yearned for a way to turn it off.
It appears there may be something else going on with Rivian and tires, too, though I doubt my buddy's client is using Conserve mode all the time: https://getpocket.com/explore/item/rivians-tires-are-wearing-out-in-as-little-as-6-000-miles-here-s-why.
I have a buddy whose client has a Rivian and drives a long washboard dirt road daily at his ranch here in southern Arizona. He said he’s had to replace multiple tires due to blowouts from the Rivian’s overall weight because of the battery. Curious if you’ve experienced this. Do off-road EVs...
2024 Subaru Forester Sport. I am a little concerned about how much larger the Traveler is than this: two feet longer and 14" wider. But I suspect I'll get used to it.
