Answering my own question, I put out the question regarding pet mode status on vehicle app to an acquaintance in Seattle who has a Tesla. He got back to me this morning and said yes the app shows mode and current interior car temp. I would assume that Rivian has the same(?).

Does anyone know if the Tesla/Rivian pet mode have phone app telemetry? I mean, it would be super cool (no pun intended) to leave the car and know your doggies are being air conditioned, but it would weigh heavily in my mind that something could fail and cook them. That would scar me for life...
