I think that an altimeter that displays elevation from the GPS would be awesome. Hikers and backpackers, squarely in the outdoors demographic that Scout is targeting, are always wanting to know their elevation as they are driving to a trailhead. I'm specifying GPS elevation because standard altimeters run of barometric pressure and become inaccurate unless they are updated as pressure changes. Pilots update their altimeters (I'm a pilot) because it's critical to their jobs and because in an aviation setting, updated barometric altimeter settings are readily available. Realistically, the vast majority of drivers wouldn't update the pressure in a standard altimeter, and if not, it would become useless. In an automotive setting, GPS elevation would be much more practical because it wouldn't require updating several times a day to be reasonably accurate.
