Frunk is more important to those with Terra. From what i have heard from R1t owners, they use the Frunk all the time, for groceries, things they don't want to put into the bed of the truck.
Plus there is typically a cover over the bed that would take more time to roll back to put something in. Pop the Frunk, and done. Traveler, people will use the back, and barley use the Frunk like most Model Y owners.

I think you keep your charging accessories in the frunk as one would hope scout supplies a nice bag or case that looks like it belongs

I am not worried first we will see EREV's from GM and ford so they will be the first to offer and experience the Erev customer issues and real live data so actually you get to see if the technology is worth waiting for or not
I hear timelines of mid 2028 Travelers in driveway and 2030 on Terra. Are those timelines on EREVs only or am going to have to wait past 2030 for a BEV Traveler. It makes no sense for my driving habit to do a EREV that gets 150- miles per charge and 350 miles with the Generator.

According to Automotive News: https://www.autonews.com/volkswagen/scout/an-scout-production-launch-timelines-0408/

Traveler SUV production is expected to begin in September 2028

Terra pickup production expected to begin March 2030

ARTICLE SUMMARY:

New data suggests that the timeline for Scout Motors’ highly anticipated debut has shifted further into the future than previously expected. According to recent projections from AutoForecast Solutions, the brand’s production schedule is being recalibrated to better align with shifting market demands.

Updated Production Timelines
Industry analysts now expect a staggered rollout for the new lineup:
  • Traveler SUV: Production is projected to begin in September 2028.
  • Terra Pickup: Manufacturing is slated to start in March 2030.
While Scout plans to produce a few dozen units for testing in late 2026, the bulk of 2027 will likely be dedicated to refining assembly processes and employee training before customer-ready vehicles emerge.

Strategic Shift to EREV
In response to cooling demand for pure battery-electric (BEV) trucks, Scout is pivoting its strategy. CEO Scott Keogh confirmed that the brand will prioritize the "Harvester" extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) powertrain.

  • Market Demand: Currently, 87% of the 160,000 reservation holders have opted for the EREV version.
  • Model Popularity: The Traveler SUV accounts for roughly 70% of all early bookings.
Production Outlook & Capacity
The manufacturing facility in Blythewood, South Carolina, is designed for high volume, though initial forecasts for the individual models remain conservative:

  • Projected Annual Volume: Roughly 40,000 units for the Traveler and 35,000 for the Terra.
  • Total Capacity: The plant can support over 200,000 vehicles per year, leaving the door open for Scout to act as a contract manufacturer for other Volkswagen Group brands.
  • Lifecycle: Analysts expect these models to stay in production for approximately nine years.
Expert Perspective

While Scout is a subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, it is navigating the typical hurdles of a startup—including building new platforms and electrical architectures from the ground up. Despite the delays, the brand aims to capture about 1% of the U.S. market share by appealing to outdoors-oriented consumers.
Do we know if production will be Traveler Harvester then Traveler EREV or will they do all Traveler and Terra HarvESTERS first then do all Travelers and Terra EREVS.

My guess is that they will first build the most expensive ones to fill ORDERS. From current RESERVATION stats that will be EREV Travelers. BUT who knows what people will actually do when it comes time to convert their reservation to an order..........
