Having owned a BEV for about a year I feel your pain. All maiden voyages are disconcerting as you don’t know what to expect. Good for you for jumping into the deep end for the BEV. Overall you seemed to be a pretty good sport about it all now. Our first experience with a BEV was about the...
Ok. This all sound (excuse the pun) a little esoteric, all I know is I don’t want it to Sound like a Tesla in reverse. I’m sure when I see the end product I’ll get it….. I don’t get opera either but that doesn’t make it bad. I’m just hoping my BEV can roll off the line b4 2030 with a Kick Ass...
Don’t forget, with a rear tailgate power window you’d be able to drop something into the back area without having to swing the rear tire out of the way.
I wonder if people’s attitude would change with $10’s for a gallon of fuel. Do you remember the gas rationing of the 70’s, you could get 10 gallons if your car license plate ended in an even# AND it was a Monday Wednesday or Friday. Not to mention that there was still a line at the pump. Just...
I agree 100%, Scout has tried to have something for everyone, they should go back to the original vision of only a BEV with a new high Teck battery that gets the mileage up to 450-500 miles.
•Charge anxiety would go away and most EREV reservations would convert to BEV’s.
•Software complexity...
Here is the Quantum Scape article from Inc magazine below

This a great article by inc magazine where VW is discussed in relation to battery production. This might be a stock to watch. Quantum Scape, stock ticker QS. Who knows, I bought Microsoft stock in the 70’s before it was much. Wish I had kept just 50 shares, I’d be a millionaire, over the course...
I agree, I want an EV that will stand the test of time. If battery technology gets to an EV mileage range of 400 to 500 mile most of the EREV demand will evaporate. We have an all electric vehicle now and love it, much to my surprise.
Originally I reserved the Traveler Harvester but the the way I interpreted the marketing information was the BEV was 350 miles on the battery and the generator brought the mileage up to 500+ miles…. I’m thinking 350 plus another 150 for the generator. Later much to my disappointment it was 150...
I think it’s fair to say that Scout Motors is quick to listen and if need be to Pivot to the market, after all they started out as a BEV platform but pivoted to a EREV platform emphasis. My question is, as battery technology continues to go forward at lightning speed are you designing the...
I have a friend that has a 3 year old EV that now requires charging every 90 miles. She seems too always need more capacity. I don’t think we realize how many miles we can put on during average daily travels around town. I love the ideal of a generator but isn’t the point of an EV to have...
I like your thought process about your driving conditions and how the EREV might not work out. I too don’t think the EREV will work for me for a different reason. I was excited for the option to stop burning fossil fuel for the planet and the simplicity of reducing my potential maintenance...
