  1. Is Scout dead in the water? I'm not buying it at a 10-25% tariff added cost.

It's pointless to worry about things we can't control. We'll have an idea of pricing in 2 years. Many experts predict EV's will achieve cost parity with ICE vehicles by the time Scout is for sale. If the batteries come from Canada and the Harvester engine from Mexico, then prices will rise...

  3. Direct to Consumer Model in States Where it is Illegal

There's no camping or off-roading in the Metroparks. It's paths for walking and running, bicycles, golf, baseball fields and picnics.. There are far better places to put a Scout facility.
  4. Harvester Engine (Range Extender) will be a VW engine, quiet, and tucked away

I'm most concerned about using a DI-only engine and carbon buildup.
  5. Harvester Engine (Range Extender) will be a VW engine, quiet, and tucked away

I wouldn't discount the 1.5 turbo from the Taos. Flat four would be cool, but that would likely have to be imported from Germany. I think Scout will try to source one from the USA or Mexico.
  6. Will the range extender charge when the Scout is not running?

No topic is more debated than this. We're all waiting to find out.
  7. Preview Images: Scout Experience Center at Production Plant in Blythewood, SC

Let's hope South Carolina's government change their laws soon. Cody Thacker's letter yesterday makes it seem the Experience Center won't be happening otherwise.
  8. Will the range extender charge when the Scout is not running?

Harvester versions will have a smaller battery. 350 is EV-only range. Remove some batteries for gas tank, engine, weight, and cost. This comes from Scout. 150 miles on battery for Harvester and 350 added.
  9. Make the spare tire on the back of the Traveler optional.

Watch this Nevo EV YouTube video that was recently released. Dwayne Jackson, Scout's VP of Interior Design, talks about Scout. He confirms the external carrier is optional. He also swings it open and you can see the gas can does not interfere...
  10. Will the range extender charge when the Scout is not running?

Harvester will add 350 miles of range, not 150.
  11. Make the spare tire on the back of the Traveler optional.

Doesn't a Wrangler tailgate swing open horizontally? Scout hatch lifts up vertically, and the drop down tailgate is small.
  12. Make the spare tire on the back of the Traveler optional.

It certainly seems possible. I don't see how they're going to be able to fit both a spare tire and the Harvester engine underneath though. I suspect the Harvester will either include the external tire or one in the cargo area.
  13. Start stop button location

I'm sure you'll have to hold the button down for several seconds to shut everything down. You are correct though-- it doesn't seem like an ideal location.
  14. A Few Capabilities Requests

Scout has said 18" is the smallest that will fit.
  15. Production question... Harvester vs. Terra priority / order?

13 months ago, Scout CEO Scott Keogh "said the SUV will be launched first, likely in 2026, with the pickup to follow six to seven months later". I haven't seen that repeated since and things change (like a 2027 release date). Customer demand and suppliers will be factors. It's too far away...
  16. Battery Size kWh estimated

I'm sure Scout is factoring in reductions in the price of batteries. This article predicts in 2026 EV and ICE cars will have ownership cost parity. https://www.goldmansachs.com/insights/articles/electric-vehicle-battery-prices-are-expected-to-fall-almost-50-percent-by-2025
  17. Scout Stores / Service Centers ("Scout Studios") plans revealed: 25 will open in 2027, expanding to 100 by 2032

Scout says Canada will have two centers in year two and 7 and by 2032. Let's hope the vehicles are reliable. I imagine any warranty work will have to be performed by an authorized service center/person. Convince your fellow Canadians to make deposits and maybe they'll build more centers!
  18. [Update: Scout Highly Confident' It'll Win Battle With Dealers] - California dealers demand Scout stop direct-to-consumer sales

Jaguar is unable to compete with the German luxury brands. They don't have the tech or cachet. Most of their models aren't profitable. Marketing only helps so much. Going upmarket is their last-ditch effort for survival. It's a big swing, but they have no other choice. If they continue to...
