  1. Scout Traveler on-road model

Lucid is very efficient. Gravity does seem nice. They have had some QC issues, but I mainly dismiss them (other than price) because of their Saudi ownership. To each their own.
  2. Scout Traveler on-road model

One would think an all-season tire would be offered for maximum range. An off-road tire usually knocks off 30-40 miles of range.
  3. Dual fuel

I've read info about the Ramcharger saying it will send power directly to the motors from the generator in instances like full throttle or heavy towing.
  4. Scout Traveler on-road model

So will you be getting the Terra or the Traveler?
  5. Scout Motors on VW’s situation

Whether or not Rivian is unionized has nothing to do with Scout. Volkswagen's assembly plant in Tennessee was non-union for over 10 years. The American South has always been more resistant to unions. The UAW will certainly make their case to the Scout workers. It's up to them to decide.
  6. Scout Motors on VW’s situation

Isn't International owned by Traton, which is a subsidiary of VW?
  7. Scout Motors on VW’s situation

It's hard to believe if VW disappeared it would not affect Scout but VW is not going away. I imagine there's going to be some major belt tightening there which have ripple effects. Scout has to distance themselves from VW to bolster their claim of independence as an end-around to not having to...
  8. Scout Traveler on-road model

18" is the smallest wheel, and Traveler is 190.9 inches long without the external spare.
  9. What will you call your Scout? -- Name / Nickname / Custom Vanity Plate

If I name one of my cars I usually wait until after I get it. Scoutie McScouterson does have a nice ring to it, though.;)
  10. Will all reservation(s) be filled?

The plant in SC will have a production capacity of 200,000/year. Fulfilling all the reservations could take years. Tesla was rumored to have 2 million Cybertruck pre-orders, but the list shrunk to around 50k. If Scout comes close to delivering on pricing, options, and delivery date, it will fare...
  11. Direct to Consumer Model in States Where it is Illegal

Every state is different. I believe in Texas to buy a Tesla you order and pay online. The car is shipped to a Texas Tesla gallery/service center. You cannot order a Tesla there or discuss pricing. It is the literal definition of "showroom". Tesla has also tried selling cars on Native...
  12. Dual fuel

The engine is at the back of the vehicle. It can be heard, so why not make it sound pleasant? A more powerful engine can generate more electricity. I did use "dream" to describe it. I realize it will likely be a three—or four-cylinder engine.
  13. Dual fuel

I'm aware, and I never implied otherwise.
  14. Bunch of pictures from Scout launch event!

It's nice to see what the interior looks like with fabric instead of hempwood.
  15. Dual fuel

Very cool! An adjustable charge limit makes sense since staying at 80% is good for battery health and charging usually slows down between 80 and 100%.
  16. Dual fuel

Oh please don't make me do math. I'll have to take my shoes and socks off for that. Besides, I have to get started on making my Thanksgiving desserts.
  17. Dual fuel

Here are 2 posts from Jamie@Scoutmotors about Harvester. Not much else has been said, just loads of speculation and debate!
  18. Dual fuel

I guess it depends on how the vehicle is driven. My default source is Car and Driver, who puts vehicles through a 200 Mi test at a steady 75. A quad-motor R1S rated for 316 miles went only 230 miles@75 mph. The pickup went 220. When they tested the pickup with all season tires, it went 280 mi...
  19. Dual fuel

Harvester will bring more people into the fold until battery tech improves. I'm all for choices. A 350 mile EPA rating could mean a real-world 270 mile range. Many EV's Don't come close to their EPA ratings (Tesla, Rivian, Ford, VW, Hyundai/Kia). But like many of us, I'm waiting to see exactly...
  20. Dual fuel

I read a comment recently from a Ram representative about the Ramcharger. He said when heavy towing or with wide open throttle, The motors draw electricity from both the generator and the batteries.
