  1. Dual fuel

I don't think it's a foregone conclusion that Harvester will be air-cooled. Harvester setup seems to be the most widely speculated thing on the forums. Most think a 3 or 4-cylinder version of a VW car engine, which seems plausible. Who knows? My dream engine is a 2.5 turbo VR6, which has been...
  2. Repairs & Servicing for 2027+ Scout EV will be at .... showrooms / service centers?

80% repairability also makes sense if Scout uses mobile mechanics to service vehicles that are far from service centers.
  3. Rear Wiper - Will the Scout have one?

Hyundai listened and added a rear wiper. A lesson for all automakers.
  4. Pricing & trim levels details in 12-18 months. Scout dedicated to $50-$51k estimated price for Traveler & Terra

Cool idea! They could also package that as a "First Edition" similar to VW's ID. Buzz.
  5. Door Handles Manual Operation - For Fire Safety (if Battery Dead)

Thank you for posting this. It's always important to read the owner's manual. If automakers didn't have manual releases they would be sued out of existence.
  6. Are you still a Scout buyer without $7500 EV tax credit?

My decision to buy the Scout with or without a tax credit will depend on the finished product. If the Harvester is well thought-out, my desired options are available, and the price is under 6 figures, I'm still interested. A lot can happen in 2-3 years. I try not to worry about things I can't...
  7. Since we're probably not getting Android Auto / Carplay...How about an analog line in?

Rivian charges $14.99/month or $149.99/year for their Connect+ service. https://rivian.com/support/article/what-is-connect
  8. Rolldown rear window (or flip-up)

The Traveler rear hatch is a split tailgate. It appears there is not enough room for the glass to drop down.
  9. Rear air vents needed in Scout production models. Preferred location: floor, B-pillar, center console??

ID. Buzz has a glass roof and ceiling vents, but it may be easier with sliding doors (picture from Car and Driver).
  10. Tinting glass roof

VW offers an electrochromic glass roof for the ID. Buzz. It's $1,495. The tech is spreading among manufacturers.
  11. Update on VW Group Joint Venture with Rivian

Rivian also makes delivery vans for Amazon. Amazon owns 17% of Rivian. They just have to hold on until their new products come out. The R2 and R3 look good on paper.
  12. Update on VW Group Joint Venture with Rivian

The joint venture will give VW access to Rivian's electrical architecture and they will co-develop software. The billion dollars is an initial investment. Step two was ensuring that the Rivian tech will work with VW tech. Once the government approves the investment, the billion dollars will be...
  13. Harvester EREV analysis & predictions: 3 cylinder gasoline engine, HP output, EV battery pack size, fuel tank location, approach departure angle

Everything I've read says the Ramcharger will be about $2,000 more than the REV. They are close, though, and I have no idea how equipped they are.
  14. Key Fob first look photos (with keychain tab / pull accessories)

It's probable not every Traveler will have an external tire carrier. We don't know if it's an option or part of a package yet. The base model may have the spare mounted inside or underneath, although the Harvester option would likely make packaging a tire underneath difficult. Time will tell.
  15. Scout Motors American Made Content: 80%+ Parts Sourced in NA, 50%+ Suppliers Within 200 Miles of Plant 🇺🇸 🦅

VW is building a massive battery plant in Ontario, Canada. It may be up and running in 2027 and have the capacity to make batteries for around 1 million vehicles. https://www.vw.ca/en/electric-vehicles/ev-hub/ev-news/st-thomas-gigafactory.html
  16. Diesel engine for range extender (Harvester EREV)

I would be surprised if a VW diesel appears in the USA post-Dieselgate.
  17. Harvester EREV analysis & predictions: 3 cylinder gasoline engine, HP output, EV battery pack size, fuel tank location, approach departure angle

Every gas station I go to has hoses on both sides of the pumps. It's as simple as pulling up to a pump on the same side as the filler door. Where's the problem?
  18. Scout Motors plant may build vehicles for other brands (including VW), and more Scout models

It's not surprising. The plant has a capacity of 200,000 vehicles per year. To be profitable, automotive plants must operate as close to max output as possible. Audi might benefit from a Defender competitor. Perhaps they could build Scouts for Australia?
  19. No 220V power outlet on the Scout Traveler?

The Terra 240v outlet is inside the bed, so Scout needs to find a place inside the Traveler. I haven't seen any photos of the Traveler cargo area yet, and there has been no mention of a 240v outlet. Scout is paying attention to their potential buyers--keep voicing your opinions! There's time...
