I came on here to say what has thankfully already been said several times. Glad we're on the same page...
Scout maybe making the same mistake the other American automakers made, trying to go upscale, adding all the Boomer and X feature. To be fair, we are the largest buying groups and the ones with expendable income. Me excluded from X expendable income. I (and my dog) really just want a bench see like my 78 F150 had and no maintenance of the EV drive system.

I think it just comes down to money at a time where automakers are being ravished by investors VW has to look at returns on investments. Keep in mind VW owns stakes in battery companies which in my opinion is what's causing the delay they may never admit it but they are either coming to market with their own new composite battery or they are going to acquire Donut Lab once their solid state battery hits the streets by the end of March 2026 . And yes that battery technology will be implemented into both the Erev and full EV versions why build a cutting edge suv that will be inferior in two yrs especially when your the one who owns the holy grail of batteries
