What's nice is to see the battery tech advances so give me the battery that works we can design the wrappers

Good for BMW. But liekly not relevant for Scout. Aerodynamics on the Scout SUV or truck are going to be a problem when it comes to EV range.

The gen1 RIvians are admirably slippery for something with their frontal cross-section. But they have an expensive and relatively complex hydraulic suspension that adjusts ground clearance from under 9 inches for highway driving to a whopping almost 15 inches for off-road use.

The new Scouts are supposed to provide 12 or slightly more inches of ground clearance. That's great for going off-road and fording depth, but murder for aerodynamics. By comparison, the Tesla Model S drops to nearly 5 inches for the highway.

Of course, when the Scout is driven at surface-street speeds, the clunky aerodynamics won't affect range as much. But the mass, compared with the BMW i3 will always be a hit to the range.

What's relevant is that battery tech is advancing and by the time scout comes to market they will have a battery that allows range per Scouts specs in both models. I believe VW knows that by the time scout hits manufacturing mid 2027 that battery tech will be able to be utilized in VW's offerings and I also believe VW will modulize it's batteries to be able to fit standardize openings ( Cad designed within their frames ) Think of it VW owns 25% stake in a battery company that battery company knows what maximum size these packs will be . They manufacture vehicles to wear power sources can be last to be added. And battery sizes can be increased or decreased but all openings would be able to accommodate largest battery pack. And not to mention service and upgrades. So Scout could have a building full of Scout EV's waiting for the upgraded batteries
