- 2025 F-150 Lightning Flash, 2025 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon
That's why the Jeep Recon is the best option on paper, but they are hard to find! There are a few dealerships who have them on order now. After 40 years driving CJ's and Wranglers, I said for years all I wanted was my latest 2012 2-door Wrangler in EV form. If I could have spent $6K to convert it to an EV that got maybe 60-80 miles per charge or more I would have done it. As it was, I had 150K miles on the clutch, had just replaced all the rockers, was probably looking at axle seals soon... I had maintained it really well, but you just never know what's next as far as the drivetrain went. Decided not to wait any longer and sold it for an EV6. I do miss it, but the EV is just stellar - and the whole family can drive it, as opposed to my 6-speed Jeep. I'm 57 and hope to someday see a short-wheelbase, high-riding EV before I leave the planet. Maybe once battery density gets better someone will offer one.
