Agreed. I’ve owned a Mach‑E GT for three years and had a Chevy Volt for eleven before that, so I’ve lived with both technologies for a long time. With the Scout EV offering nearly 100 miles more electric range than our current EV, the choice is pretty straightforward for us. We already rarely...
Good point. Hey to be honest I came back to remove my comment but since we are just jarring one another, I figured its all good! Good luck to all as its been a long wait and sadly we might be only half-way there...
Agreed. The US had an opportunity to stay ahead in this emerging tech space, but many people feel that recent policy decisions have made that harder. Canada’s approach, which is allowing a limited percentage of Chinese EVs into their market, is a good example of how other countries are...
Wow... talk about my thread getting hijacked.... :)
If VW or Scout requires a dealership and they handle it like "most" of the Ford Dealerships did with my Bronco pre-order/reservation, then I think most of you will be happy. Most dealers did not mark-up the early reservation holders of the...
No but that's a really good point and to be honest I've gotten busy at work but I have already thought of several places to reach out to when I get more time but if anybody can think of anything else please let me know
As title says... and didn't want to use "Beta Testing" in the title but that is essentially what I am interested in and think I make a good case why I would be a good choice for Scout. As a lifelong North Carolinian, I’m thrilled to be living right where the action is—just minutes from Scout’s...
I know this is probably sacreligious to those older Scout owners that have likely been going to Scout events for years but I wonder if the Columbia, SC area will start to plan/host annual Scout events (not necessarily take over existing ones). If you look at my profile you will see why I have...
I want to do the same and feel lucky I live in Charlotte, NC, which is essentially a 1 hour drive down I-77 :) Never dreamed Blythwood, SC (Columbia for that matter) would get a nice big new car plant, especially a plant that is going to build an exciting new car like this! Can't wait.
I have stock 35s on my Bronco Badlands, which Ford basically forced Jeep to start to offer the same as a high end factory option when the new Broncos arrived. I spend a lot of time on the Bronco (and sometimes Jeep forums/pages) and there is a big following to have factory setup 35s on a...
Can you see the plant from Interstate 77? I drove by this way a couple of weeks ago on my to Columbia and saw a large area of land being cleared. Thought it had to be for the plant. Will be impressive to see from there.
Ha. Well I have a $60K Bronco Badlands that I took to major offroad group events within 2 months of getting it and have since gone again maybe a dozen times. I paid for that capability so I definitely want to experience it and take advantage of it. There are ways to go offroading to avoid damage...
Yes like at our Carolina Panthers game, which would be more exciting than watching them play this year lol. I would buy some cheap tickets just to see it.
Good point about the Cayman. Looking forward to seeing how all of this unfolds, while also feeling we might be helping Scout in someway setting all this up!
Ok I appreciate you providing the link to the Volt power train as I do stand corrected. Kudos on how you handled that! : ) I now recall this going back and forth in those initial years as I think the big confusion was how one defines how the gas engines provides assistance. Which as you know...
I agree with you, I would rather just get the full EV version and enjoy the bump in performance and range over the gas extender that only prolongs the battery's depletion.
I agree with all you said except the part about Volt's planetary gearset. That was a myth and was never the case, atleast not in the Gen1 vehicles. The engine was only used as a generator with the battery providing full power to propel the vehicle in motion. What many may have confused this...
Just posted more detail on the other Harvester thread, so will just summarize on this one. I also haven't read thru all 7 pages, so hopefully this hasnt already been argued to death. It is my hope that Scout is watching these boards as they appear to be listening to their potential buyer base...
