Hi everyone - As a dog owner, I’m trying to understand how the HVAC system will behave on the Harvester, especially in parked situations.
Many EVs today (Tesla, Rivian, Ford, Hyundai, Kia, Volvo, Polestar) support features like:
  • Dog Mode / Pet Mode
  • Cabin Overheat Protection
  • Climate control while parked
  • Automatic battery sustain using the range extender (for EREVs)
Since the Harvester uses an electric compressor and a HV battery, it should technically be possible to keep the AC running for hours — and even indefinitely if the range extender is allowed to maintain the battery.

My questions:
  1. Will the Harvester support AC operation while parked?
  2. Will there be a dedicated Dog Mode or Stay Mode?
  3. Will the range extender be allowed to start automatically to maintain cabin temperature?
  4. Will there be app‑based monitoring or alerts for cabin temperature?
This is an important safety feature for pet owners, and I’d love to know if Scout plans to support it.
Thanks!

Scout has shown Pet Mode in UX demonstrations, with the ability to upload a picture of your pet.

My Cadillac VISTIQ has a 1 hr button you hit keeps vehicles AC or heat running and turns off child seat alert. I ran in store one day and didn't utilize button and car alarm was going off do to child seat alert. But I like the idea of the Scout Pack a modular home battery that is mobile and was engineered to fit in tire carrier as an additional power source or EV extender or used as a campsite power supply that's recharged via foldable solar panel that's where automakers see value in home and commercial battery storage all the big auto manufacturers are utilizing their battery investments but it's going to be awhile before our mail order bride arrives hope she can cook !!

One would assume the tech understands the mode, same with camp mode. These modes should know if energy drops close 0, turn on the harvester to charge the battery.

If they miss that day 1, I would bet a software update will be added soon after.

Rivian has pet mode as well. The software comes from Rivian, I am sure they will add in the harvester

Does anyone know if the Tesla/Rivian pet mode have phone app telemetry? I mean, it would be super cool (no pun intended) to leave the car and know your doggies are being air conditioned, but it would weigh heavily in my mind that something could fail and cook them. That would scar me for life :whatsgoingon:

These are great questions that I hope Scout can address with their upcoming Release.

These are great questions I hope Scout addresses for their upcoming Release. There are literally thousands of potential customers that have this need for such reasons as "Pets In Car"; "Camping, Hunting, Traveling Needs" both in our great American Domestic AND International Markets.
Based on Scouts recent Client Gift to those of us invested in Scout (""Scout The America Others Pass By" it is very telling that addressing these needs only MULTIPLIES gaining future Customers into our "SCOUT Experience."

Answering my own question, I put out the question regarding pet mode status on vehicle app to an acquaintance in Seattle who has a Tesla. He got back to me this morning and said yes the app shows mode and current interior car temp. I would assume that Rivian has the same(?).
