You're looking at the old model, the 2025 Taycan has a new pouch style cell with a new thermal management system. This is another brand under the VW umbrella using modern battery technology, we will see what the future holds. The Macan does NOT use these same cells.
Good to know! I tow a boat a lot, but my 21' bay boat only weighs about 3,000lbs with trailer so suspension sag isn't much of an issue. As long as Scout uses a non-proprietary air system so replacements can be easily obtained and affordable (I'm seeing quotes for $4,000 to replace rear shocks in...
I would never speak down on anyone due to something as benign as a their career choice. What anyone does for a job means dick to their character. I’ve worked blue collar, service industry, and medical jobs. But that’s besides the point, I’m unfollowing this thread, we will see what the battery...
I have KO3’s on my Sequoia. They’re much more road oriented A/T’s than one would believe from profile pictures. The Scorpion A/T’s are not the best tire, but the impact on range should be roughly the same. Plus, OEM versions of tires are hardly ever the same as aftermarket. The OEM Falken AT4W...
Option? Probably, but I really hope it’s limited to only the most expensive trim. I refuse to buy a vehicle with air suspension. I know there are good ones out there, but it fails MUCH more often than a coil spring setup. Personally, I’m hoping for an active setup like the Fox Raptor setup.
Your math has to be off. The Ultium truck platform has a 212Kwh battery and they go in the mid 400 miles, in a vehicle much bigger and heavier than the Scouts.
My estimate, purely speculation based on nothing more than noggin math comparing other vehicles, is 150kwh battery pack in BEV trucks...
I imagine this will be treated exactly like the cellular connection in most modern vehicles. You have all the required hardware, but you have to pay the subscription. Industry standard is about $15 per month.
I’m guessing the 350 miles of range is going to be pretty accurate. There’s rumors of Solid State Batteries being deployed by then, and regular NMC batteries are improving every year. The future will not be gains in efficiency, range increases will come from greater energy density batteries and...
I’m the opposite, I really do not want air suspension. It’s just one more point of chronic failures that I would rather avoid. An adaptive coil spring suspension on high trims (Raptor style) or regular shocks on low and mid would make me happy. Since Scout has said something like 80% of these...
I understand what you're saying, but I don't agree with the dealer model anymore. I'm tired of dealer mark-ups and pushy finance departments trying to throw extended warranties down your throat. Not being able to get financing rates until you've already invested 3 to 4 hours negotiating on...
People will learn about the cars the same way people learn about Tesla and Rivian. The service/experience centers, word of mouth, and YouTube/Social Media.
Bluey's parents drive an LC 70 series.....I have a 4 year old, I'm practically friends with Bandit and Chili.
VW doesn't have a leg to stand on. Scout, it it's current form, has never been sold to the consumers. Therefore, dealers cannot argue they have the rights to sell a new franchisee.
you say that, but those processes will take years. Don’t be surprised if there are several states without direct sales for a few years.
In NC, Rivian owners have to go back out of state for large service items (VA and GA). Smaller service tickets can be handled via mobile service.
