I agree, people bailing when we're still two years out and an unstable political climate, which sadly could impact production of these vehicles. We can't continue to bury our heads in the sand that this company is up against some serious uphill battles but I'm completely pulling for Scout!
Advertisement is what Scout needs! Seems they should've talked about EREV more especially to help pull in some range anxiety people/electric nay-sayers, but all in all great way to get the Scout name out there and relate that to some cool history.
I'd like to repair most things like my current Jeep - axles, gears, brakes/rotors, clearly maintain the EREV engine, body parts...I'll be as hands on as they'll let me get away with. Electronics are not off-topic, but without access to a wiring schema or code (ha! like they would even allow...
Seems odd that it's still still 2 years out from final build and people already dropping like flies based on a statement about a still-being-developed car and rapidly changing tech.
Yeah I'm not happy about the 150 miles on smaller battery pack on the EREV but I can wait until final specs are...
Well he spoke of "possibilities" from an upgrade perspective. Bigger gas tanks, bigger battery options, I mean they're really going for it and don't even have the plant built yet! Let's hope they can pull it off.
As I get older my knees are trash so having air for ingress/egress, as well as higher speed travels would be great, then give me rugged for when I'm wheeling!
I listened to this podcast and WOW does Scott know how to speak and drive all the points in why he believes Scout will succeed. Yeah I still have some reservations on 150 initial EREV mileage but nothing's 100% yet as tech will keep changing up until they start manufacturing. Impressive...
I currently have a Jeep and while I don't go too crazy, I do have some Texas pin-striping no thanks to branches and brush when wheeling. My wife has repeatedly stated "you'll never take a $60k+ vehicle 4 wheeling" but considering the Scout is built for it, I don't see why not. Yeah the paint is...
Data Collection should always be a concern for anyone regardless of the device - I hope ppl aren't just blindly hitting "accept" when prompted about data collection from apps/phones. I get these are all choices that we make to own the device, but a car doesn't need to carry the same weight as a...
With all the data being used from Tesla, Ford and I'm sure every car manufacturer out there, I wonder how much we'll be able to "opt out" of data collection from Scout, or at least from parts of it? I don't foresee Scout having full self-driving, but OTA updates require back/forth info from a...
Interesting thought, however Scout has yet to provide any details tech-wise in terms of battery, components, etc., and who knows who's going to manufacture those things for them.
Know that tech is constantly changing and you can expect some form of "old" components after production begins...
While LIDAR would be nice, I feel Scout wants to limit tech (to some degree) and keep costs down vs. tossing everything and the kitchen sink into these vehicles. I feel their goal is to provide enough tech to get us, and keep us, outdoors.
The audio on that video was horrible, however I did learn that the door cubby belt line was the water forging depth, that's a cool and innovative way to integrate information and functionality!
The latest post with a video from Kim Java has the head of the UI state it'll be dynamic based upon the mode you're in. I won't attempt to reiterate what he said here, go check out the last 8 mins of that video for some good ideas of what they're thinking about...
350 - where did you read that? I heard that's the base battery, then with the Harvester you can get up to 500, i.e. 150. I imagine if you stopped and filled up in the middle of that you could get more, but 150 with the fuel tank is what I've been reading.
