Looks like all Scout facilities are gonna be very pleasant places to be. Any shots of the off-road driving course?
I really liked the preview of the Scout showrooms / stores / service centers too. Someone described it as REI meets garage.
That's my hope too, but I think little chance the Harvester engine won't be a VW engine. First, the decision to add an EREV model was made late in development, which means they likely just picked a VW engine off the shelf. Second, it'd cost so much more money to develop a ground-up in-house...
I wasn't clear in my previous thread so I deleted it. What I'd like to suggest Scout Motors:
Please give us a Generator Mode for the Harvester model. For example the F-150 Hybrids with onboard power generator option have the ability to switch the truck into "Generator Mode" -- this allows the...
21 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk Hemi. Love what a brute it feels like, but the Traveler is gonna blow it away in performance regardless. And I can't wait to get back into a true off-roader!
Hah didn't even catch that unti you mentioned it. Reason probably cuz it's still a preproduction software version. They may be polishing up even more before showing a demo. THey've got years of teasers and info to release slowly to keep people interested so I'm sure they purposely held some...
A few here have speculated that the range extender can be disabled. We've got visual proof now that range extender can be turned off easily in the Scout's "Status" screen with the "Range Extender On/Off" toggle menu setting.
From -- 1st look at Infotainment Software UI -- Modes (Pet Mode, Camp...
Looks nice and seems responsive. Glad to see Range Extender can be disabled and turned off with just a tap.
Wonder why they didn't bother previewing some of it during the reveal presentation.
Besides Pet Mode, Camp Mode, Night Mode, what do you guys think the other two modes are (at 8 and 11...
Here's the oil cooler for the Harvester engine -- from these photos of the underbody: https://www.scoutevforum.com/electric-solid-rear-axle-ebeam-rear-axle-underbody-photos-analysis/
Scout Motors if you're reading this, please give us a Heat Pump in the production model. So helpful in warming the battery and also allows pre-conditioning. ? Obviously this results in better range and efficiency (FYI for those who are new to EV's).
Do you mean you've made a $100 reservation already? If so, we won't be "ordering" until 2027. Once the vehicle is close to launch is when reservation holders will be contacted to place actual orders.
Very informative look at the Scout EV's solid rear axle, which is actually an "EBeam rear axle" where the electric motor is mounted onto the solid axle.
All credit for the following goes to The Autopian for their excellent underbody / undercarriage look!
I also showed Kevin the rear axle...
So we know that Scout EV will be sold via direct sale to customer and not going through VW dealerships. Instead there'll be Scout Motors showrooms where you can see/sit in the vehicles, test drive and order vehicle in person if you want.
So presumably, we won't be able to have our Scouts...
Interesting... I'd be very surprised if they didn't have any driving aids at all on the Scout EV - not even something basic like lane keep assist or adaptive cruise control.
Been staring at this render of Terrain SUV with white roof and I think it looks awesome. Anyone else would considering a white roof / top option from factory or maybe just a wrap?
