    I canceled our two reservations

    Looks like a Scout!

    Battery Size kWh estimated

I don’t recall Scout saying anything about a low range (4L).

    Battery Size kWh estimated

I concur here. My in town driving is 90% or more so the 150 is sufficient. The Harvester will be good for road trips, particularly in places like Wyoming, Montana, etc. if starting off with a full battery and gas tank can get you 500 miles, that’s 23+ mpg. Not too bad for a full sized truck with...

    Dream: 2-Door Scout

I thought this too. A two-door Terra, perhaps with an extended cab, longer bed, and rear suicide doors.

    Dream: 2-Door Scout

I thought this too, but checking specs yesterday it looks like the Bronco Raptor and Wrangler Rubicon are very close to the Traveler.

Moderate rock crawling- how much protection will the underbody protection provide?

Todd C I think you have the right of it here. The size of the Scouts will be the primary limiting factor. I wouldn’t get near the Black Bear with either of these vehicles. That said, if the Traveler/Terra were closer to Jeep/Bronco dimensions there’d be no stopping them.

Low range - is this a concern?

Engine braking is something i’d like to know about with EV’s. It’s hard to beat grandma gear going down a steep trail (not highway) that demands very low speed. I’d hate to be riding my brakes all the way down. Any thoughts on this?

Share memories of your original old Scouts

My first introduction to Scout was in 1962. My dad bought a brand new unit and we traveled everywhere, Colorado (where we lived), Utah mostly. We drove it to the Seattle Worlds fair in 1962, then down the coast to grandma’s house. Going through San Fran, the clutch went out. The first of four. I...

What will you call your Scout? -- Name / Nickname / Custom Vanity Plate

I hesitate to say, for fear someone will steal it. Oh, ok it’ll be GEORGE; with the Superman emblem on the front…

What will be the Traveler's turning circle?

Did you ever drive a pre-II Scout? That new turning radius was orders of magnitude better. It almost turned as tight as the original Bronco.

Introductions & Welcome Thread For New & Old Members 👋

That ‘62 was my introduction to 4WD utility vehicles. I’ve loved them ever since. The Scout announcement caught me by surprise; and made me drool. Made my reservation in May for a Terra Harvester. All the growing-up good feelings welled up making me dream of doing it again in my retirement...

Wow! A Hillman. Haven’t thought about that beast in forever. We had one when we moved from Ft. Stockton, TX to Denver in 1958. Dad’s 1st. Scout was Two vehicles after the Hillman.

Grab handle (removable) for driver on A-pillar

This was one of my observations. I think there should be one for the driver as well.

Factory delivery will be available ... are you taking trip to Scout plant in SC for it?

I’m in Missouri so more than 1 day, but yes absolutely, particularly the off-road course

    Anyone else losing excitement/interest?

Not losing interest, but coming to terms with my real reason for wanting a Scout (wifey helped with that). The truth is, this will be a nostalgia purchase for me. I’ve owned two, my dad owned four. I learned to drive in the ‘67. My first thought was, I want all the off-road bells and whistles...

Terra - 10 Pleas and Desired Options

I concur. You can’t have too many tie-down points in a pickup bed, IMHO.

Air Suspension won't be standard / universal across Scout lineup

Having offroaded in 60’s/70’s vehicles with leaf springs all around (think Scouts and Jeeps), i can see how a properly engineered AS would contribute significantly to the experience. My question is, would this feature be independently controllable? Sidling shelf roads give me the Heebie-Jeebies...
