Pending a miracle with the Harvester Tech e.g VERY low maintenance and close to zero noise, I'm going the safe, sane, less complicated route of BEV. 350 miles of range is all most people with reasonable planning skills need.
Having owned 3 Chevy Volts, the generator charger kicked in when the battery was at or very close to empty. Unfortunately, it did make noise and it wasn't the pleasant exhaust note of some ICE cars but depending upon the load e.g. rapid acceleration, it sounded like crap. That is the main reason...
The latest Tesla App upgrade for Superchargers will show the available chargers for pull through (trailers) use. The Tesla App and navigation system are another big advantage for Tesla. To bad their truck is as ugly as sin. Good for Scout though ... ;)
My reservation is for the Traveler and I need a hitch for a bike rack. I want the spare tire on the tailgate and that means my rack (1Up) might need a hitch extender to mate up with a standard location hitch receiver. My bikes are of the E variety and weigh a combined 100lbs so not too bad from...
That is very good news and clearly demonstrates their understanding of the BEV infrastructure.
This is perhaps my biggest concern. If VW is the cash cow for Scout Motors then there could be trouble ahead. It could be 4-5 years before Scout realizes profit and that is a very long time without...
Yeah, this is great news as Rivian comes closest to matching Tesla's software advantage. That said, the Tesla Supercharger Network is what makes BEV ownership seamless. Charge port location is a big deal and I hope Scout gets that right.
The ideal locations are:
Driver side rear
Passenger...
As a 6'5" human with a tall wife and children, I'm hoping the Traveler has similar passenger leg room even though it is considerably shorter overall. The roominess of the cabin is important to me and may be key in my waiting an extra year plus for the Traveler over say a Rivian R2.
Considering the Cybertruck's 2M reservation take rate was less than 3%, the refundable $100 reservation fee is not a reliable gauge of buyer interest. I have three such reservations currently with Scout, Rivian (R2) and Chevy (Silverado RS) and the one I'm most excited about is the Scout. I just...
Having a NACS port on any BEV purchase is critical and the driver side rear is the best location. As a Tesla owner, the Supercharger network is the best reason to buy Tesla and adhering to the thousands of Supercharger cabinets by not taking up 2 (or more) charging stalls in important. As BEV...
Having owned a Travelall back in the 1960"s, this was a happy surprise. I recently cancelled my early Cybertruck reservation and was looking for other options when I saw this Thread. With a NACS charge port, great looking interior/exterior and 500 mile range the extended range version is the...
