A simplier solution would be that the with the button the tire carrier pops open and is pushed out of the way by the rear hatch. Some simple factory installed protection could be used for any touch points, however button closure could be complicated.
I think an option to remove the spare tire...
I'm 6'4 my wife is maybe 5'4 - for her every seat is comfortable so this will need to be my decision. I have fond memories of the old bench seats, sliding left and right during turns was always fun. But comfort wise for longer trips they tended to lack adjustability so likely I won't be getting...
They have plenty of experience in this with access to Porsche trim option lists. There is nothing longer than buying a Porsche and going through the options.. Hopefully Scout simplifies it similar to Ford with the Bronco. I'll admit I like the trims with technology/performance as I doubt I would...
I'm leaning towards non-bench front because the technology advantages of a center console would be used so much more than a 6th seat. Storage, phone charging etc.,
Agree with ability to remove tire carrier especially for mostly local driving for parking etc, would make it so easy. Then for longer trips/off-roading it can be installed quickly.
It's built in the US, tariff's are parts, if they do happen, will likely become a trade bullet point where there can be 'in kind' trade of parts/supplies.
Production is so far out and the reserve is only $100 refundable there is literally no risk.
I figure I won't see anything until sometime in 2028. In the meantime I will be looking for a vehicle to fill my needs and can make a decision when production begins and I 'get the call' ;) Likely at least 3-4 years away.
Wow that's just dissapointing. While camera's have gotten good I think having additional information makes the auto drive much safer. An easy example is camera based systems vs Waymo system on total miles driven & number of incidents.
I have to agree, just look at recent vehicle sales from reservations that have occurred. Bronco's are a great one, Hummer EV another. People reserved their vehicle at a price and they immediately attempted to add on more costs and charges. As I recall even Rivian attempted this but back tracks...
Interesting, I could see closer to 200mi EV range w/extender to get over 500mi by the time they are near production but never know. The technology and optimization seems to be a daily change.
Will cabana roof have a cover option? I can't imagine long term durability with out some sort of protection from the elements. I have not been able to find further details on the roof options online.
The issue with 'just adding more batteries' is all the unintended consequences. Heavier vehicles go through tires, tie rod ends, bushings, etc and cause more wear and tear on roadways. I have read there are some higher capacity batteries in development with minimal weight gains so the ability to...
Have solar as well and I know that Fossil fuel is not going anywhere anytime soon. There is far too much reliance on it and It fills a critical energy & manufacturing need. Unless you have solar for over 100% of your needs w/storage & you can ensure the sun regularly shines, you will need fossil...
My assumption is Dodge sells so many cars b/c they will give a loan to practically anyone. That's why you see so many Chargers/Challengers repo'ed and on used car lots after auction.
I think the Harvester option is not very complex since it's not connected to the drivetrain in any way so eliminates a lot of parts & configuration needs. As far as the EV side is concerned when it turns on it's the same as being plugged in, that's a standard function.
The engine itself can be...
The Dodge Ramcharger looks interesting, though it has a small battery at 92-KWh but have a V6 generator is a great backup. The only big issue, for me, is it's a Stellantis product and they are just not good, in almost any way. Build quality, reliability, etc., The Ramcharger is looking really...
