Production still two years out seems premature to lock down 500 miles only to a REV option. Batteries, especially fitted to this size vehicle, in two years will easily see 500 mile range without additional and maintenance required mechanics.
My grandson will love this and I’ll include this pic with my Traveler reservation and will make sure he gets it in my estate. I don’t have a grandson but likely to get one sooner than a Scout.
Standardizing EV batteries too early would lock in today’s technology and slow the pace of innovation. Battery design is a core differentiator for manufacturers, tied to performance, safety, cost, and range. There is no one-size-fits-all solution. Preserving flexibility allows companies to...
Why, just why?! Quit baiting people with 2-year old concepts that you don’t plan to start producing until 3 to 4 years from now. They will either be horribly outdated or nothing like what they’ll make in 2028/2030. Sorry, I’m snarky and pissed because I was really excited and started to plan my...
Ugh…wake me up in literally 3 years. In that time I will have leased a Rivian R2. And I bet the majority of those wanting the EREV are those who currently don’t drive an EV. You lose performance, are dependent on gas for nominal trips, and require maintenance compared to EV only. I’ve had my...
Well shoot. My current ride’s warranty is up in May 2027 and I’m not rolling the dice for another year. The one opportunity for this unfortunate news is if they’re able to pivot and build better range because they’re already outmaneuvered by Ram REV, not to mention the newly announced BMW and...
I don’t believe we’re chasing technology and hoping for the next best battery, etc. It’s the dilemma of announcing and offering reservations for a model that is still 3 years from production. During that time there will be better technology. In fact there’s better now than when Scout was...
Appears there’s a little more to this. Ford took a big hit (see article link below or Google “Ford take $19.5 billion hit”) on its EV line-up and pivoting to this variant. Still, love the competition to keep innovation moving forward...
Up to 250 miles? Keep in mind it will never be more than that and degrades over time so, for me, 300 miles is a minimum and should be more this far into EV development.
Sorry I missed your question vbrad - as a Model Y Performance owner I am now accustomed to gas station visits only for lottery tickets, realize that 150 mile range (EV range of the Harvester) is really 110 miles or a 50-mile trip and back, and used to quick acceleration (Harvester version has...
Sounds like a lesser option to the PHEV XC60s I’ve had, but maybe manufacturers could increase battery sizes in these configurations to be the primary power source rather than a boost to an ICE. Our XC60 was something like 315hp ICE w/ 140hp battery? Total was 455 ponies and 0-60 in 4.5. While...
I didn’t intend this thread to be a line in the sand or a poll between Rivian and Scout. I hate my Tesla for the reasons that there are only 4 variations, 5 colors each, and two interior choices. Yet there’s millions sold for the reasons I love it - technology, performance, and value. You don’t...
A while back I changed my Traveler Harvester reservation to Traveler EV-only. I reached out to Scout prior to making the change to confirm doing so would not lose my place in line, which was confirmed. So I don’t see an issue with your change, other than working through the site issue to make it.
I have a Traveler reservation, not a R2 reservation. But I’m also a consumer and owe myself to make the best choice with my money. Perhaps you’re not seeing Rivian’s manufacturing developments of their R2. You’d also be naive to assume the R2 won’t benefit from their production-tested sibling...
With Rivian already making waves with both the R1 and the upcoming R2, the Traveler is walking up to the plate in a tough batting order. Rivian has shown they can deliver on range and performance across two models, one targeting premium buyers (R1 3-row) and one coming in at a more accessible...
Whoa, that’s amazing and a no-brainer. I’m not going to lie, I’m eyeing the Rivian R2 development. I don’t tow and currently have a Model Y Performance. I’m accustomed to about 300 miles range and 0-60 in mid 3-second. That’s my daily life and I know it doesn’t align with why you get or want in...
