I fully agree. My local dealers of all brands won’t budge on price. I’ve purchased several new vehicles well outside this area because the markup is so bad that even flying and driving it back or having a vehicle shipped still saved thousands of dollars. Our local dealers priced the VW Buzz $20k...
Also oil gaskets, air filters, spark plugs, transmission fluid, timing belts, etc.
There are definitely pros and cons to ICE, BEV, EREV, and PHEV.
With the non-ICE versions you don’t have to go to the gas station regularly if you have charging ability at home. With ICE, EREV, and PHEV you can...
One of my concerns is whether the EREV would be able to keep up while towing. I know that would also hit the BEV range as well. It will be interesting to see how they compare as we get closer to production.
I switched from an EREV to a BEV reservation once I saw how reduced the electric only range was on the EREV. I wonder how many of the 150k reservations are active on this forum and know that.
In my specific point of view if I have the BEV I can stop and charge it full while on a road trip. With...
Started with the harvester model but switched to full electric because it is less complicated and less maintenance. Also learning that the electric range is reduced with the harvester model.
Fully agree. Was looking at the Silverado EV but it is off the list due to lack of CarPlay. The car manufacturers want to sell your driving habit data. This is the reason nearly all new cars have SiriusXM or some cellular connection so they can get this data. That is where the big money is.
They refuse to support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay because they lose data about where you travel, what you pass to get there, and the ability to sell you updates and ads. Look into GM selling data to car insurance companies for just one example. The big $$$ is in the data sold to the highest...
I have had several Jeeps with that material and have had no issues in the Florida sun for years. I don't know about snow, but my guess is it would probably not insulate as well as a hard top.
My friend has a Rivian and frankly the little screen in the back is a novelty. Currently there is a bug that locks out those climate controls, but other than that it has limited functionality like showing time to destination but the rear seat passengers can just as easily see it on the big...
This is exactly why I reserved one. We have a teen that will be needing a vehicle about the time this comes out. I am a bit skeptical regarding them being able to maintain the price point. It makes great marketing currently and gets the name out. Later they could easily blame "market...
They’ve also had years of actual in-use customer vehicles to figure it out and yet they put out “patch” after “patch” for seemingly similar issues often across models. Many are nuisances but it does detract from the ownership experience. The other issue is that the knowledge at the service...
