I too hate the Dyson fan headlights but the R2 looks great and I LOVE the roll down rear window! Really miss that from my childhood SUVs. For now staying with Scout to see how these models shake out
It’s niche at best. Every example they show has a wrap, added interior features like power windows, locks, seats etc making it much closer to other pickups with more range.
when you add in the SUV features pricing is worse.
Most will want standard features like power windows. locks, radio etc.
A lot will change and there will likely be some other credit or lower finance costs etc., that will make it just fine. I'm not worried as there is no delivery pending for at least a year or two.
Yes, sign me up. I'm in California but if I could do a factory tour and Scout experience then have my vehicle shipped to California I'd love the option!
As a reservation holder I like the idea, however, it's a only $100 and that's asking for a lot for what is a minimal investment on the holders part. Now if they asked for more then I could see this being something.
Non-logical California is testing the idea of taxing based on miles driven this is in response to their lack of knowledge around the basic fact that the more EV's on the road the less gas tax they collect.
I swear politicians are of the lowest intelligence known to man.
I don't have issues...
Likely not since 2 doors in general are not big volume sellers in the US, 2 door SUV's even less so there just isn't any profit in it and a new company needs to show a move towards profitability.
Battery technology will improve however it's the infrastructure that will take some time. Having a 500 mile range (optimal conditions) is great but the ability to easily charge wherever you are is still years away. The ability to just hop in your EV and go, not even worrying about where you'll...
Not losing interest at all but realistically I see production deliveries more into 2028. In the meantime I traded in my S5 coupe on a CPO BMW X5 45e PHEV. There is logic here...stay with me.
1. I'm 6'4 and my boys are tall so the coupe was fun really for me except when getting out.
2. I wanted...
Of course not, I'm stating the simple/logical solution would be a shift of the tax. But likely will never happen, even though it would bring in much more tax revenue.
It seems to be the simplest solution is a use based tax on mileage. Remove any fuel taxes at the pump and shift that to mileage based taxes.
Then there could be tax rebates based on income so it all get's settled at tax time. In the Bay Area all the Federal EV tax credits don't really matter...
While I agree the battery technology is getting better and more advanced the real concern should be around infrastructure. Power generation & distribution is a real challenge and the one that is going to dictate EV growth.
Where I live in the Bay Area it's relatively easy to charge, though lines...
