Scout Launch Delayed Until 2028 Summer: Report

It will be quite awhile before new battery tech is adopted and considered safe for EVs. NCM and LFP after 15 years considered safe enough to use. I figure at my current age, I will be at my RMD (Required Minimum Distribution) age before I see solid state, sodium, or new tech EV batteries being...

Scout Launch Delayed Until 2028 Summer: Report

Yes, I have seen that company as well as Factorial that has partnered up with MBZ, Stellantis, Kia and Hyundai using SS batteries for tests. https://electrek.co/2026/02/26/all-solid-state-ev-battery-maker-factorial-moves-toward-production/ Both looks promising, but I am most concerned about the...

Scout Launch Delayed Until 2028 Summer: Report

With shortcomings of the Solid state batteries, it will be quite sometime before automotive battery packs will be safe to use. With all the early learning curves with NMC batteries causing fires (Tesla, Volt, Bolt, Leaf) I think another battery tech will take a long time work out. NMC and LFP...

Scout Launch Delayed Until 2028 Summer: Report

Really ? Didn't know Ford is coming out with an EREV Bronco in the US. I thought it was for the Chinese market only ? As I continue searching options for other EREVs... This year the RAM EREV is coming out, but $70,000 price tag scares me...

Current EV owners: are you sticking with full-EV or switching to EREV Harvester Scout?

This is great to hear - guess GM fixed those multitude of issues with the Cadillac Lyriq? I'd consider GM, but our white fleet (government) at work was switched out with Ford as the transportation dept mechanics were having issues with keeping the GM fleet running. Our first EV was the Ford...

Scout Launch Delayed Until 2028 Summer: Report

I'm 62 and haven't had that many cars, but I have to say that EVs are way better designed with very low total cost of ownership (TCO). I love my low cost of owning a 2018 Honda Clarity PHEV that gets driven in EV mode 90% of the time, not using the gas except for a long distance drive. This...

Current EV owners: are you sticking with full-EV or switching to EREV Harvester Scout?

Agree same here will wait.... In the meantime, I will keep my Ford Mach E BEV for another year or two since the 3 year subscription packages are expiring soon. Not happy with the $50/month ADAS Bluecruise feature compared to the $8/month Navigation, live traffic and pre-conditioning features...

Current EV owners: are you sticking with full-EV or switching to EREV Harvester Scout?

Umm no thanks - that EV is a GM built chassis using the Ultium battery. I looked at the Honda Prologue which is the same guts as the Acura ZDX and after reading thru threads, the app failures, lack of support are concerning. Then I'd never drive a Chevy Equinox, Blazer, Lyriq, Optiq, Silverado...

Current EV owners: are you sticking with full-EV or switching to EREV Harvester Scout?

Problem with the new BMW iX3 is that demand is skyrocketing and supply is pushed back a year. My BMW dealer said to wait a year or 2 because now everyone will pay over MSRP.

Scout gift for reservation holders - Any guesses?

Yes, I have seen HiLux (Toyota) trucks from Mexico that are half priced compared to the Tacoma in the US. They are diesel which makes them powerful workhorses that will last longer. The driver said, it's possible to buy the half priced HiLux in Mexico and then import into the US ???

Scout Launch Delayed Until 2028 Summer: Report

I can see reservation holder conversion to orders dropping like flies. When Ford opened the F150 Lightning BEV reservations, about 60% of reservation holders converted to real orders when production started. Some of those F150 buyers that converted merely bought it for flipping them for...

Anyone look at the 2027 Toyota Highlander EV coming out ?

    Harvester Real World Highway Range?

Just as a comparison, my Honda PHEV gets about 325 miles of range using a 7 gallon gas tank! With the small EV battery, it gets about 50 miles range per charge. Total is 375 miles for fully charged 17kW battery + 7 gallon gas tank = very frugal.

Report: Scout EV Delayed. Only Hybrid Harvester at Launch / Start of Production

This line up of upcoming EREV summarizes what is coming out and what price point. While RAM will be the first EREV wit 690 mile range, price point is way too high (think Ford F150 Lightning Platinum trim). Scout looks to be a very good ad placement and price point in this article of EREVs...

    Harvester Real World Highway Range?

Gas / diesel prices would also be a factor. I know that in most of the country, fuel prices are very low. Unfortunately I live in a very expensive fuel priced area ($5/gallon gas, $6/gallon diesel, $6/gallon JetA fuel) so it makes sense to go EV. Gone are the days of $400/month gasoline...

    Harvester Real World Highway Range?

Driving that fast, cold temps, towing, hauling, and mountainous terrain will seriously hit the range. Scout may not be the correct tool for the job. You should look at either the light duty F150 Ford Powerboosted Hybrid gas truck or heavy duty high efficiency modern diesel engine trucks & SUVs...

Report: Scout EV Delayed. Only Hybrid Harvester at Launch / Start of Production

Both for me. Loved the IH design of the past plus the EREV feature makes it a perfect fit for me. Coming from 3 EVs, I'd say the EREV will be better for longer range driving. Retiring in a few months so looking forward to more relaxed trips.
